NYFW SS14

Proenza Schouler: This has to be my favourite of NYFW if not all of SS14 so far! I'm mesmerised by the amazing
work McCollough and Hernandez did this season. The silhouettes, the textiles, the accessories... everything

A quick review of my favourites from NYFW SS14!

was done to perfection. The lines were simple, pure but not seen before. The looks were all so edgy, all thanks to
the amazing texture explored! I loved the wide pantsuits, its such a new spin on things, and bringing 'voluminous'
back to the wardrobe. Then the hand painted textile coats. Those are to die for. The raw hand painted detailing
emphasises the hem lines and gives a classic coat a 'WOW' factor. And talk about the shoes, the snakeskin
wood platforms in black, blood red and white are again to die for! My favourite looks from this show is definitely
the long hand painted taupe coat paired with metallic pleated wide legged pants (worn by Josephine Le Tutour).
The coat is cut perfectly and i'm pretty sure its on most of your SS14 wishlist already! Then the oversized
coat with metal detailing looks so cozy, and the voluminous trousers definitely adds to the 'Proenza' effect!

Narciso Rodriguez: Structured, edgy and the epitome of New York fashion with a bit of feminine edge to it.
Look 1 was definitely my favourite. The structured tailor blazer half white and half black. The leather detailing
definitely adds to the edge! Again, the textiles here were inventive and not seen before, such as a 'lace - like' fabric
thats somewhat see through. The colours were monochromatic throughout with flashes of bold colours like the
orange dress above, which is a fresh hint of next spring's season.

Alexander Wang: #Wang does it again! This season, incorporating logos into leathers by embrossing them.
This time, not only using black and white, but including pastels (pinks, lilacs) into the collection. Here my fav
has to be the lasercut black trench coat and also the asymmetric sleeveless pink top! Its so spring, so cool, and
paired with leather boxer shorts? Isn't it cheeky incorporating the logo into the gloves?

Rodebjer: To be honest, i've never heard of this brand since this season. I honestly don't understand how I
missed it the previous seasons! First glance at this collection, I was constantly reminded by the early Philo
stages. The minimal silhouettes, wrapped shoes, deep V necklines - a mixture of Céline SS13 and SS12.
Especially the white tones, makes it look overall clean and relaxed. And guess what, Meryl Streep and Gwyneth
Paltrow have both worn pieces from Rodebjer! Now I'm really feeling guilty for not knowing better about
this new favourite of mine!
